In order to post to the OGSO discussion forums, you must register with our website. The forums are moderated by the Art/Communication/Media Working Group according to the OGSO Ground Rules.
Each of the active Working Groups has a forum. There is a forum specifically for the development of proposals that do not fall into the interest of a specific Working Group. There is also a forum to post announcements from other Occupy groups around the country and world.
To create a discussion in the forums, you may post a “Topic” in the appropriate forum. Other people may then post “Replies” to this topic. The replies are kept in chronological order, making it easy to follow an online conversation. Each reply has a specific number and link, making it simple to refer to a previous reply. These numbers and links are found across the top of a reply, to the right of the date. If you look to the top right of this reply you will see the number XXXX. This is the direct link to this specific reply.
Things to consider when posting a new Topic or Reply:
- Make the Topic title as descriptive as possible in as few words as possible.
- Avoid sarcasm or irony. These do not transmit well via the internet and may be misconstrued causing unnecessary confusion and tension.
- Do not post off-topic replies. This forum is intended to be used for discussion and organizing work. Please visit our Facebook Group to engage in general discussion.
The forum’s also allow basic HTML markup. You can use the buttons across the top of a Forum post box to add basic formatting and links. At the bottom of each Reply is a “Quote” link. If you want to quote from someone else, highlight the text you want and then click “Quote”. The highlighted text will be added to a Reply post box and you may then comment on it in your reply.
Other changes and developments to the Forums will be announced here. Check it periodically for information.
