CoopEcon Florida is an opportunity for social justice community leaders and those interested in growing cooperative businesses and economies in Florida to gather, learn more about cooperatives and network with people wanting worker justice and a new economy across the state.

Who should attend? If you are active in your community struggling for community-based immigrant-led economic development, you should come. If you are a social justice activist out on the front lines and trying to figure out how to turn your community’s resistance into building your own economic institutions, you should come. If you are involved in economic development because you want to help people create stronger, healthier communities but are unsatisfied with the typical kinds of businesses people are starting, you should come.

Saturday will be a full experience starting at 10am with a welcoming, grounding in Florida’s unique reality, a panel of speakers, workshops, strategy sessions and plenty of time for socializing and networking. For those who can stay on Sunday there will be another round of in-depth workshops in the morning before closing around lunchtime.

We are staying and meeting at San Jose Mission and the program includes meals. If you need housing for Friday and Saturday please put that in the registration form. Also let us know your child care and interpretation needs.

This event is being supported by the Southern Grassroots Economies Project, the Fund for Democratic Communities and the Florida Farmworkers Association. There are countless other organizations that are making this event happen.

Please mark the date on your calendar now and register!!! We look forward to seeing you October 17th and 18th at CoopEcon Florida!
