The Fund for Democratic Communities invites you, your family and community to a screening of the film, “Fixing the Future.”
In “Fixing the Future” host David Brancaccio, of public radio’s Marketplace and NOW on PBS, visits people and groups across the US that are reinventing the economy in their local communities through sustainable and innovative approaches to create jobs and build prosperity.“Fixing the Future” highlights effective, local practices such as: local business alliances, community banking, time banking/hour exchange, worker cooperatives and local currencies, inspiring hope and renewal in a people overwhelmed by economic collapse.
After the film, we’ll hear from a locally-based panel of speakers about the exciting ways folks arealready working to building a new economy right here in Greensboro and nearby.
The screening will take place on Wednesday, November 14th at the Carousel Theater at 1305 Battleground Avenue.
The evening’s schedule is:
- 6:00pm: Mingling, Networking & Refreshments
- 6:30pm: Film Screening
- 7:30pm: Panel Discussion, Q & A & Raffle
